Violin Bow by Marie Chastagnol, Quimper 2025
Marie Chastagnol studied cabinet-making before learning bowmaking at the National School of Violin Making in Mirecourt (2004–2007), with Jean-Frédéric Schmitt in Lyon and Arthur Dubroca/Alexandre Aumont in Paris. She worked from 2008-2012 with Juliette Desmarchelier and Yannick Le Canu in Lille, and in Olivier Perot’s Montreal workshop. In 2013, she returned to France to work with Georges Tépho and opened her own workshop there in 2017. She collaborates with Tépho, Eric Fournier and Emmanuel Bégin, while also maintaining bows for Atelier St Marc in Quimper.
