We mark our first annual Archet LA Contemporary Bow Exhibition, and we’re proud to host it at both the Colburn School and our flagship LA Violin Shop location in Koreatown. It’s exhilarating to welcome some of the finest bow makers—both longtime friends and new faces—to participate in this special event. We are truly honored to present such remarkable works of art by today’s leading archetiers. From their craftsmanship to their artistic vision, these bows represent the highest standards in contemporary bow making. Archet LA aims to help musicians, collectors, and students form deeper connections—with their equipment, with the makers behind the tools they use, and with one another. This is just the beginning. Archet LA will continue, and we hope it grows each year—welcoming even more makers, musicians, and lovers of the craft. Special thanks go to the Colburn School, and to every maker who participates and brings this exhibition to life. Authenticate LA 2024: Trusted Expertise in Fine Instrument & Bow Authentication
We are proud to host Authenticate LA 2024, our annual event dedicated to the expert authentication of fine string instruments and bows. Held at our Los Angeles headquarters from January 25–27, 2024, this event offers musicians, collectors, and dealers the opportunity to gain clarity and confidence regarding the origin, maker, and value of their instruments. Our authentication team conducts thorough inspections to determine authenticity, maker, and date, offering personalized appointments to ensure the highest level of service. When identification is confirmed, we facilitate the creation of certificates through the renowned Ateliers Vatelot-Rampal and Jean-François Raffin in Paris. These official certificates take approximately 1–2 months to arrive and are internationally recognized for their authority and reliability. Participants also have the option to consign their authenticated instruments or bows through LA Violin Shop, giving them the confidence to sell with a verified pedigree and current European market valuation. Beyond authentication, Authenticate LA is a space to share ideas, connect with a community, and deepen your knowledge about bows and instruments. Whether you're a musician, collector, or enthusiast, this event provides a rare opportunity to engage directly with leading experts in the field.
