Violin labeled Leandro Bisiach- Probably Eastern Europe circa 1900

A slightly petite violin and modelled after Bisiach, this violin is very comfortable to play. Lovely tone colors and plenty of volume as well as fine craftsmanship. The scroll and to piece back are finely formed and a testament to it's maker discermnent and high level of woodworking skill. Finished with handsome rosewood fittings and of robust playing health make this a fine instrument for an advanced student or professional.  

Esteemed violin maker Leandro Bisiach (1864-1945) was known for his perfect replicas of the old master as well as his shrewed business sense. His workshop employeed many of the great luthiers of Itlay at the time and was prominent in the selling of vintage instruments. Bisiach came into possession of an old Strad receipe for varnish and substantially caused confusion amongst connoisseurs as to the authenticity of his his instruments.
