Violin by Paul Lee, Tustin 2023

A personal model of Paul's this violin is covered in a rich and multifacted reddish-brown varnish throughout. Tasteful and lightly antiqued it's tone is full of character and color. The two piece back is lightly flamed and enhanced by the aformentioned varnish. A scroll of robust proportions and thickly gouged give this intrument a commanding and captivating visual appeal. Outfitted with boxwood fittings and Evah Pirazzi Gold Strings this violin delivers plenty of sound and flexiblity of tone for a discernign artist.

Paul Lee graduated from the Chicago School of Violin Making in 2011 and gradually developed his restoration skills through collaboration with makers involved in both making and restoration in Cremona, Newark, Chicago, and Seoul. He later studied bow making at J. B. Lee’s workshop in Seoul, Korea, under J. B. Lee and VSA Gold Medalist Yongje Song. After immigrating to the United States in 2018, K. P. Lee has worked primarily as a violin and bow maker rather than a restorer, operating under the name K. P. Lee since establishing his workshop in Tustin, California, in 2020.
