Violin by Heinrich Holste, Beigenbauer, 1924
A fine violin by Heinrich Holste it is in a very good state of preservation and is covered with a rich orange and yellow varnish throughout. The two piece back exhibits even and regular flaming and it's tone is very seasoned and mature- a very honest and clean sound in all registers.
Heinrich Holste (1863-) was originally a violinist and music director for his local church in Steinkirchen, Germany. His interest in woodworking led to the creation of a violin and ultimately a career in luthiere. Holste produced over 600 string instruments and was high favored by esteemed pedagogue Goby Eberhardt. Holste's instruments have a reputation to be very responsive with a full sound.
