Violin by Gustave Vuillaume 4/4, Nancy France 1936

Gustave Vuillaume, born in Mirecourt in 1899, was a member of the renowned Vuillaume family of violin makers. He began his training with Léon Mougenot and won the silver medal at the Mirecourt professional competition three consecutive years from 1911 to 1913. After his apprenticeship, he worked in Paris for Caressa & Français before moving to Nancy to join the Jacquot workshop, where he later established his own workshop. Vuillaume produced both original models and traditional copies and was especially known for his exceptional Guarneri reproductions, characterized by fine workmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
