Violin by Charles Harman Oregon 1990

This violin by Charles Harman delivers a strong, resonant sound characterized by robust warmth. Its tone is focused and direct across all registers, offering exceptional versatility for the solo player. In the lower register, the instrument produces a rich warmth and complexity which adds depth without sacrificing clarity. The middle range brings enhanced definition and balance, while the upper register shines with a silvery brilliance that projects beautifully.

This violin is strung with Peter Infeld Strings to enhance its tonal focus and responsiveness. It is finished with pernambuco fittings to complete the instrument.

Charles Harman
(1931-2021) was an all around renaissance man - a doctor of neurology, a practitioner of law, and a commercial fisherman - yet his love of music and instruments persisted throughout his life and his various professions. His early childhood was marked by his musical mother and his love of playing the violin, viola, and cello. Harman began making violins in 1998 from Victor Gardener and from the classic books of the Hill Brothers, Sacconi, Weisshaar and Goodkind; as well as publications and advice from Robert Cauer.
