Violin by Viateur Roy, Joinville 2025

Originally from Quebec, Canada, Viateur Roy developed a dual foundation in music and woodworking through early choral training and hands-on experience in wood transformation. He trained at the École Nationale du Meuble in Victoriaville, graduating with the Governor General of Canada Medal, before pursuing violin making at the National School of Lutherie in Mirecourt, France (2009). He then spent nine years assisting Patrick Robin, refining his craft of instrument sonority, informed by the work of François Denis. Today, Viateur Roy is dedicated to the making of quartet instruments.
