Karl Gerhard Penzel (1929-2017) was the son of bow maker Kurt Walter Penzel. He trained and worked in Erlbach under the direction of his great-uncle E.M. Penzel before moving to Stuttgart. In 1974, he moved to Ostrach where his family continues its bow making tradition to this day.
