Hybrid Pernambuco viola bow by Paul Siefried

A leading bowmaker and founder of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, Paul Martin Siefried initially pursued leatherwork after being uninspired by art school. Discovering the craft of violin making, he secured an apprenticeship with a handmade leather bag as his portfolio. He apprenticed at Cremona Violin Makers & Dealers and eventually his award-winning bow making led to him becoming a VSA competition judge.

This distinctive viola bow offers exceptional playability with a distinctive aesthetic. The non-ebony frog and white lizard skin grip, replacing traditional windings, imparts unconventional visual appeal while enhancing the player's control.  Its flexibility and elasticity allow for nuanced playing, making it ideal for violists seeking innovative design and superior performance.
