Ernst Heinrich Roth (E.H. Roth) violins, crafted in Germany since the 1920s, are graded primarily by the model and date of the famous Italian master violin they reproduce. Roth instruments range from professional artist-level replicas to high-end student instruments.
This violin, dated 1989, is in a very fine state of preservation. It is covered in a pristine coat of golden to orange varnish and the Roth workshop utilized very fine wood in its' construction. The top exhibits a fine and even grain across it's surface and the two-piece back and scroll have very fine and evenly spaced flames  throughout. While it may not date from the "Golden-Age" of the Roth workshop, it remains a very beautiful and desirable violin. It would be a great instrument for an advancing student or aspiring professional. It has been expertly setup by our workshop staff and the ebony fittings compliment the lightly burnished varnish very well. The lower register has plenty of color and depth and speaks effortlessly. The upper register has plenty of overtone and projection and the violin in a very robust state of health. Give us a call at 213-471-2124 to setup an audition or trial of this high-value violin.
