Cello by Ian McWilliams, Berlin 2025
Brilliant and Focused Contemporary Cello
This contemporary cello speaks with brilliance and focus, making it an excellent choice for professional players and soloists. Its upper register combines clarity and brilliance to produce an exceptionally pure tone that can cut through the thickest textures. This brightness carries into the middle and lower ranges, where added resonance and a ringing quality help activate the instrument and those around it.
The cello responds quickly to the player, enabling rapid solo passages to be articulated with ease and clarity. On the lower strings, a husky texture introduces a more complex character, offering greater expressive possibilities. The instrument is well-balanced across all strings, both in tonal quality and volume.
