Rental Overview
- Graduated Sizes and Instrument Choice: Los Angeles Violin Shop offers a variety of violin, viola, and cello sizes. Customers will receive the shop’s basic rental instruments, which are well-set-up, good-quality student-level outfits.
- Flexible Length of Term: The minimum rental is 3 months. If you discontinue the rental, return the instrument 2 business days before the scheduled auto payment date to avoid being for the next month’s payment. Customer is responsible for the full month’s payment, and payments will not be prorated nor refunded.
- LA Violin Shop Protection Plan: LAVS commits to maintaining the covered instrument, bow, and/or case in excellent playing condition. In case of accidental damage, fire, or theft, LAVS will undertake repairs or replacements using items of comparable make, quality, and condition, in accordance with the provisions outlined in Terms and Conditions.
- Advanced Instruments for Advanced Players: Designed for musicians who demand higher performance from their instruments, our Advanced Rental program provides a premium-quality instrument, case, and bow to help elevate your playing experience.
- Same Flexible Rental Terms: Enjoy the same flexible rental terms and Protection Plan as our Standard Rental program, making the transition to an Advanced Rental seamless and worry-free.

Available Sizes
- Violin: 3/4–4/4
- Viola: 15"–16.5"
- Cello: 3/4–4/4
- Every month that you rent with us, we save a portion of your rent to be used as a credit when purchasing an instrument!
- Maximum 100% of monthly Rental Credits may be applied as a credit up to 50% of LA Violin Shop's retail price on any instrument.
- This discount (Purchase Option Credit) must be applied towards purchase when returning the rental to LAVS; otherwise the Rental Credit will be forfeited.
- If the renter misses a payment or fails to to keep their account current, the Rental Credit will be forfeited.
- Discounts are not held for future application, and are non-transferable. Conversion of a current rental account to purchase is NOT AUTOMATIC. Renter MUST ELECT o purchase.
- Rental Credit is instrument specific (e.g. violin credit towards a violin purchase, not a viola or cello)
Other Terms
- Protection Plan does not cover string breakage, intentional abuse of the instrument, and neglect.
- Rental charge are based on possession of the instrument, not usage. Rental charges will continue until the instrument is physically returned to LA Violin Shop and checked in by our staff.
- All rental instruments, bows, and cases remain the sole property of LA Violin Shop at all times. Renters obtain no ownership rights under the agreement.
- To end the rental, the original case, instrument, and bow must be returned to LA Violin Shop. If any one of these items are missing, LA Violin Shop will charge a proated amount to replace the missing item.
